What guides me

Pedagogical attitudes and principles

Security, safety, and dependability are basic human needs, and their stability is important for proper development. Individuals need appropriate relationship and life experience, and at times support, to ensure these needs. This might appear simplistic, but in reality, it is anything but.

I like to support processes of understanding and the changing of entrenched behaviors and world views. Transparency and steadfastness are especially important to me in identifying goals and approaches. Developing new ideas together and finding the right solutions should be the focus of consulting and support.

I am guided by a systematic mindset, as well as the basic assumption of a solution-oriented approach and trauma pedagogy.

Through careful listening, questioning and coming to a joint understanding of the situation, I address my partner with the respect they deserve and with the courage to ask uncomfortable, possibly troubling questions. Sometimes, the path to change is a thorny one.

This is important to me because I am convinced that supporting children and young people as they become adults must be a central task of society. I am also convinced that parents always want the best for their children.

To make sure they receive it, it is important to look carefully and identify significant hurdles, so that they can be overcome. This may require external support from time to time.

To maintain an overview of values, attitudes, and principles as well as processes in the pedagogical world, we must always look at the situation as a whole. The time we spend doing so is worth it for the clarity and security we obtain for future pedagogical action.

Accepting help is not an admission of weakness, but is instead the expression of professionalism and courage, and the seriousness of working towards change.

This applies to everyone involved in the process, no matter their background, education or function, as well as for adjacent aid and support structures.
